Community Safety for Accredited Persons
An accredited person is someone who is employed by an organisation (other than the
police) in a community safety role and been given limited police powers by a chief officer of police. The chief officer of police must be satisfied that the person’s
employer is fit and proper, and that the individual is suitable and has received
adequate training.
Course Units
The Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award in Community Safety for Accredited Persons uses a
mix of internal and external assessment. Units 1 and 2 are externally tested by means
of multiple-choice tests. Unit 3 is assessed internally and will be externally verified
through the National Standards Sampling process.

Course Completion
The Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award in Community Safety for Accredited Persons is a
60–hour qualification consisting of three units of 30, 20 and 10 hours.
To achieve the whole qualification, a learner must successfully complete all three
units.
