Course Content
SIA Qualification for Door Supervisors
Core competency training is delivered in two parts as follows:
Part One ~ Role and responsibilities of a door supervisor (14 Hours)
This Covers:
- Appropriate behaviour for door supervisors
- Civil and criminal law
- Searching and arrest procedures
- Drugs awareness
- Recording incidents and crime scene prevention
- Licensing law
- Equal opportunities and discrimination
- Health and safety at work
- Emergency procedures
Part Two ~ Communication skills and conflict management (14 Hours)
- How to refuse entry and how to eject in a way that reduces risk of conflict
- Identifying the types of incidents that could happen inside a venue & how to deal with them
- Understanding the law about arrest
These subjects may be delivered over a couple of days with an average course day of 7½ hours or, trainers may adopt a more flexible approach to delivery using weekends and/or a combination of evening sessions.
